I am a mental health therapist in Worthington, Ohio providing individual therapy. My approach integrates a variety of effective and proven methods including cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness and EMDR for trauma reprocessing. I work with clients who have a variety of strengths and challenges. My clinical focus areas are women's wellness throughout life including maternal mental health, substance abuse and trauma. I have specialized training in perinatal and postpartum mental health through Postpartum Support International.
I have a bachelors degree in Anthropology and a masters degree in Social Work from The Ohio State University. I have been working in the field of mental health since 2003. Before opening my private practice in 2010, my experiences included working as a psychiatrist's assistant in a large counseling center, serving homeless teens in a transitional housing program, providing medical case management, drug and alcohol counseling and mental health therapy for persons living with HIV/ AIDS and hospital social work with children and families at Nationwide Children's Hospital.
I also am available to provide community and professional workshops, training and social work supervision. I am an experienced speaker and workshop facilitator and have lectured at Ohio University, The Ohio State University and many local agencies and conferences including The Ohio State University/ Talbot Hall Addictions Studies Institute. I have developed and taught emotional wellness workshops including "Healing the Holidays" and "Mental Health for Moms".
